Around 1.7 million mobile internet users in Q3 2024: AEC

Skopje, 15 April 2025 (MIA) - The total number of active mobile subscribers in the country has reached 2.095.819 as of Q3 2024, an increase of 9.7% compared to the previous quarter and 1.05% compared to Q3 of 2023.
According to a report published by the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) on Tuesday, in Q3 of 2024 1.732.063 subscribers had access to broadband and narrowband internet through mobile networks (2G/3G/4G), with 544.937 having access to broadband internet. The rise of mobile internet users stands at 11.75% quarterly, and 2.3% annually.
The number of residential post-paid users has risen by 0.62% on a quarterly level and 3.04% on an annual level, while business post-paid users have increased by 0.69% compared to Q2 2024 and 0.69% compared to Q3 2023.
As of September 30, A1 Macedonia held the largest share of active mobile subscribers in the country with 47.71%, followed by Makedonski Telekom with 46.66%, Lycamobile with 3.12%, Telekabel 1.20%, MTEL 1.21%, and Green Mobile with 0.10%.
AEC registered a drop in sent SMS messages of 24.19% in Q3 of 2024 compared to Q2. There was also a drop of 9.79% in realized calls through mobile communication networks compared to Q2 and 6.95% compared to Q3 of 2023.
The total number of landlines in Q3 stands at 454.160 and has risen by 1.9% compared to Q3 2023.
AEC also registered a total of 437.684 subscribers of TV services in Q3 of 2024.
