Amended draft-budget at Parliament plenary session

Skopje, 9 December 2025 (MIA) – The 2026 amended draft-budget is in Tuesday’s agenda of the 73rd session in Parliament. Some 20 amendments, out of close to 200 that were submitted, were passed during a debate of the Financing and Budget Committee in Parliament.

The 2026 draft-budget is one of the strategic economic documents passed by the end of the year, aimed to pave the way of the economy next year.

“This budget isn’t only a document of figures and charts – it’s an economic message of growth, investments and certainty for the citizens, companies and institutions,” Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska said speaking at a session of the Financing and Budget Committee in Parliament last month.

The proposed budget, she added, is a resumption of the strategy for rational and disciplined use of public means so as to allow sustainable economic development and improvement of the standards for living.

“The 2026 budget is a proof that we can manage smartly, with discipline and vision in the midst of global challenges. With this document, the government is strengthening the trust in institutions, supports the role of the private sector as the driving force behind economic growth and has been creating conditions to boost domestic and foreign investments," stated Dimitrieska-Kochoska.

Next year’s draft-budget projects total revenues of Mden 374.7 billion (€6.08 billion), expenditures of Mden 413.9 billion (€6.71 billion) and capital investments of Mden 40.5 billion (€650 million). Economic growth is projected at 3.8 percent, inflation at 2.5 percent and the budget deficit at 3.5 percent of GDP.
