Skopje, 22 January 2026 (MIA) - All state roads are passable and safe. Traffic is regular, but caution is advised due to ongoing snowfall, said the Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia (AMSM).

Snow flurries are reported at Strumica, Krushevo, as well as the Gjavato mountain pass.  

Teams of the Makedonija Pat public enterprise are continually clearing up the roads, in coordination with State Roads public enteprise and the Ministry of Transport. Activities are ongoing to ensure safe traffic across the country.

Drivers are urged to use winter equipment for their vehicles and adapt to the road conditions, while traffic info-centers are recommended to provide timely reports.

Moderate traffic is reported outside urban areas and no delays at border crossings.

As of Nov. 15, 2025, winter equipment in vehicles is mandatory until Mar. 15, 2026.

Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
