Skopje, 4 December 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski addressed Thursday the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna, referring to the security challenges that the OSCE region is facing and developments within the organization.
Reaffirming the country's commitment to OSCE's fundamental values and principles, FM Mucunski noted the serious repercussions from the Russian aggression on Ukraine to regional security and safety, as well as its damaging impact on the organization's internal relations, polarization, lack of dialogue and mistrust. In this regard, the Minister expressed support to the peace efforts, initiatives and diplomacy on both sides of the Atlantic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Regarding OSCE's structural crisis, the FM stressed the necessity for its overcoming and added that the organization needs operational predictability and unhindered functionality.
"We need a modern and resilient organization that takes into account the present context. OSCE, the foundation of collaborative security, should be ready to actively support peace and play an important role in Ukraine's recovery," said Mucunski.
On the call for resilience as the main theme of the meeting, he said it relates to the countries' readiness and capability to efficiently respond to current and future security challenges.
In this context, Mucunski highlighted the important role of OSCE's field missions as catalysts of transformation, designed to strengthen states in the realization of their strategic priorities.

Mucunski added that the Macedonian society, despite all obstacles and challenges, has demonstrated clear commitment to the realization of its European aspirations.
"By accomplishing this strategic goal, our region will transform itself from EU's border into its bridge, a generator of stability, innovations and ideas, protector from instability and harmful influence," noted Mucunski.
On the OSCE Mission to Skopje, he said its engagement should support the Government's current and future reform priorities, reads the press release.
