Skopje, 16 December 2025 (MIA) — Detailed guidelines on responding to bomb threats have been delivered to all schools but the Ministry of Education and Science has no information on how schools are responding to each threat, Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska said Tuesday.

"There is inadequate communication between institutions, or rather, between the top state institutions and those below them," she said, adding that local mayors and school principals were assigned this duty. 

She said the school bomb threat guidelines focused on immediate safety actions including evacuation and transportation. "Regarding transportation, it is the responsibility of the mayors," she added.

Janevska was commenting on Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski's response to Alliance for Albanians MP Rina Ajdari, who had asked him about false bomb threats in a Tetovo high school and the students' leaving the premises.

Minister Toshkovski said the national anti-terrorist protocol was followed in all cases of bomb threats, and the protocol included evacuation of students. He added that public safety, especially the safety of children, was priority number one. mr/
