Western Balkans High Level Policy Dialogue 2024 takes place in Skopje

Skopje, 27 November 2027 (MIA) - “Next-Gen Governance: Driving Public Service Innovation in the Western Balkans” is the topic of the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) Annual Ministerial Conference, taking place Wednesday in Skopje.

The Ministry for Public Administration is hosting the two-day event, which started yesterday, that convenes Western Balkan ministers under ReSPA’s auspices.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski is expected to address the High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD) on Wednesday

The conference is expected to produce conclusions and strategic documents, which will clearly outline our path toward future public administration reforms, said Minister for Public Administration Goran Minchev at yesterday’s event.

Minchev on Tuesday chaired the 16th Ministerial Meeting of ReSPA’s Governing Board with ministers from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, top officials from ReSPA countries and European Commission representatives in attendance.

The session, said the Ministry for Public Administration, confirmed ReSPA’s key role in public administration development in the Western Balkans. Governing Board members welcomed the successful implementation of the 2023-2024 program, which includes many activities to boost the capacity of more than 1,200 public servants, development of regional policies as well as implementation of innovations in digital administration.

“The Ministerial Session of the ReSPA Governing Board is yet another step in our joint commitment to modern, professional and transparent public administrations serving the citizens and contributing to integrating the region into the European family. The Government of the Republic of Macedonia remains committed to regional cooperation and reform processes being the foundation for better future for us all,” said Minchev.

ReSPA’s annual report, the 2025-2026 budget were adopted in the session and guidelines for future activities were passed. Also, the ReSPA strategic plan for 2025-2030 was adopted, aimed at further strengthening public administration in the region.

Minister Minchev handed over ReSPA’s presidency to Montenegro.
