Washington, 20 January 2025 (dpa/MIA) - New US President Donald Trump has vowed to overcome what he called a "crisis of trust" in government.

"Our government confronts a crisis of trust," Trump said in his inaugural address on Monday.

"For many years, a radical and corrupt establishment has extracted power and wealth from our citizens while the pillars of our society lay broken and seemingly in complete disrepair," he added.

But now the US stands at the beginning of a new golden age, Trump asserted.

"We will be strong, and we will win like never before."

"The future is ours, and our Golden Age has just begun," the 47th US president added.
