Croatians hold fifth Friday boycott, unveil 'Hello, Inspector' app

Zagreb, 21 February 2025 (Hina/MIA) – As Croatian consumers hold their fifth Friday boycott of retail stores, the consumer platform "Halo, inspektore" (Hello, Inspector) unveiled its eponymous multifunctional application, offering information on platform actions, market trends and prices.

The app was created by Osijek-based developers Matej Petric and Enio Đordan.

"This is a purely Croatian innovation, the result of young Osijek programmers, and there is currently no similar app in Europe or worldwide," Josip Kelemen, the platform’s leader, told a press conference Friday.

According to Kelemen, the application combines communication with consumers and is interactive, bringing together market information in one place.

Petric and Đordan explained that the first section of the app contains all relevant information related to the ongoing boycott of retail shops, providing citizens with essential updates from the "Halo, inspektore" platform.

The second section showcases results, visually represented through charts, illustrating changes in the value and number of receipts issued on Fridays when the boycott is held. The data includes weekly analyses as well as comparisons with Friday, Jan. 17, before the boycotts began.

The third section features prices, allowing users to see the full product range of a retail chain and compare specific products with the same items from other chains.

The final section includes notifications from the "Halo, inspektore" platform, surveys and a form to report irregularities, enabling consumers to communicate with the platform and receive updates on the actions taken following their reports.
