Skopje, 16 October 2024 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received General Metin Gürak, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Türkiye, and discussed defense relations between the two countries, according to an official press release.

The two countries are continuously developing their defense ties as part of the NATO alliance and strategic partnership in all areas of mutual interest, the release said.

Siljanovska Davkova stressed the significant Turkish contribution through military financial agreements as well as annual cooperation plans that provide financial support, military equipment, defense systems and training.

Thanking Türkiye on its unwavering support since the independence of the Macedonian state, Siljanovska Davkova pledged her commitment to further nurturing and strengthening the close ties between the two countries and encouraging high-level mutual visits. mr/
