Skopje, 27 May 2026 (MIA) - Police officers detained two Kosovo nationals at the Gevgelija-Negotino motorway under the suspicion of smuggling seven migrants from Egypt, the Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday.

The police stopped two vehicles with Kosovo register plates early on Tuesday, one used to transport the migrants while the other served as escort.

The two drivers have been given 30-day detention, while the migrants have been transferred to the Vizbegovo center for asylum seekers in Skopje.
