Parliament verifies resignation of anti-corruption commission head

Skopje, 29 July 2025 (MIA) – The Parliament at its session on Tuesday verified the resignation of the head of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), Tatjana Dimitrovska.

Speaker Afrim Gashi noted that by the beginning of the session, Dimitrovska had notified the Parliament that she would elaborate on her resignation.

The anti-corruption commission head Tatjana Dimitrovska tendered her resignation to Parliament on July 25, after the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption filed an indictment against her for two crimes – disclosing official secrets to a suspect in the “Additive” case and unlawfully obtaining a classified information certificate by having another individual take the classified information exam in her stead.

The Parliament will resume Tuesday's session following a one-hour break requested by the European Front parliamentary group, and is expected to debate on a no confidence motion against Ljupcho Kocevski, the Chief State Public Prosecutor, filed by the opposition Levica MPs.

Levica MPs will vote in favour of the no confidence motion and SDSM MPs will vote against. Also, ZNAM leader Maksim Dimitrievski said that ZNAM MPs will back the motion. VMRO-DPMNE is yet to announce how its lawmakers will vote as DUI is expected to announce it today.

Asked how VMRO-DPMNE MPs will vote on Kocevski’s no confidence motion, PM Hristijan Mickoski said he doesn’t change his positions overnight nor his party does.
