Parliament Speaker Gashi meets Azerbaijani Ambassador Khasiyev
- Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held a meeting Thursday with the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to North Macedonia, Kamil Khasiyev, during which they discussed opportunities for the promotion of cooperation between the two countries.
Skopje, 16 January 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held a meeting Thursday with the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to North Macedonia, Kamil Khasiyev, during which they discussed opportunities for the promotion of cooperation between the two countries.
“Gashi voiced belief that in the coming period the two countries will deepen their bilateral cooperation in several areas, such as energy, tourism, culture, and trade. The Speaker informed the Ambassador that the country’s Parliament has established a Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of Azerbaijan, and expressed hope that the communication between the two parliaments will intensify,” Parliament said in a press release.
At the meeting, Gashi and Khasiyev discussed opportunities for cooperation in tourism and energy in order to ensure greater energy security and independence of the countries from the region.
The meeting noted that the two countries mark 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, which should serve as added impetus for the promotion of relations, Parliament said.
