Skopje, 15 October 2024 (MIA) - In the period January-August 2024, compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 8.3%. The number of domestic tourists decreased by 0.9%, while that of foreign tourists increased by 14.4%, State Statistical Office data show.

In addition, the number of nights spent increased by 5.3%. The number of nights spent by domestic tourists increased by 2.6%, while those by foreign tourists increased by 9.3%.

The number of tourists in August 2024 was 232,576, of whom 48.6% were domestic tourists and the other 51.4% were foreign tourists. The number of nights spent in August 2024 was 911,478, of which 74.3% are realised by domestic tourists and 25.7% are realised by foreign tourists.
