No Government reshuffle for now, says PM

No Government reshuffle for now, says PM

Skopje, 6 November 2025 (MIA) - The VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition is comfortable because it holds a large majority in the Parliament and won 80 percent of mayoral seats at the local elections, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Thursday.

On reports that Bekim Sali would replace Izet Mexhiti in the Deputy PM's post after his election as Chair mayor, while another person from Vlen would take over the environment portfolio, PM Mickoski says this is a decision of their coalition partner.

"However, this doesn't mean there will be an additional portfolio. I hold Bekim Sali in high regard, there is no doubt about that, but this does not mean there will be an additional spot in the cabinet," Mickoski told reporters.

Regarding a Government reshuffle, the PM said they are focused on the party congress that is set to take place in Kavadarci on December 6.

"This will be followed by setting up a party structure, an executive committee, other bodies within the party. Meanwhile, we will contemplate the Government reshuffling and I am ready to talk to everyone within the coalition. Nevertheless, I am the one who has the final say," noted Mickoski.

According to him, a reshuffle is not made just for the sake of reshuffling but to improve on the previous appointments, while urging reporters to disregard speculation over the replacement of certain ministers.

"Let's see, this will not be a process that finishes overnight. A reshuffle will mean nothing if the incoming person fails to offer a better programme, one that leads to a better performance and delivery," underlined Mickoski.
