No further disruptions at Berlin airport following drone sighting

Berlin, 1 November 2025 (dpa/MIA) – Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) resumed normal operations on Saturday after a temporary pause due to a drone sighting on Friday evening.

An airport spokesman confirmed to dpa that there were no restrictions currently in place.

Flight operations were suspended for just under two hours on Friday evening, and a number of flights were diverted.

The airport's normal operating hours were extended to allow aircraft to take off until 2 am (0100 GMT) and land throughout the night in order to make up for the delays. Five departing aircraft made use of the exemption.

The number of incidents involving drones of unknown origin is increasing. Operations at Germany's second-largest airport in Munich were disrupted by drone sightings at the beginning of October.
