Nikoloski in Budapest: Economic development and EU integration remain as Government's top priorities

Skopje, 15 January 2025 (MIA) - Deputy PM and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski met Wednesday in Budapest with Balázs Orbán, Political Director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and Minister for National Economy Márton Nagy, discussing economic and political relations, with a focus on Hungary's economic support and enhancement of trade ties.
Deputy PM Nikoloski highlighted the Government's economic reforms towards accelerated economic growth and the fight against corruption, while also presenting the priorities for development of the national economy, realization of capital projects of exceptional significance for regional development and connectivity, as well as policies for attraction of foreign investments, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.
The meetings also tackled the development of the transport and energy sectors, along with regional projects that would bring the Western Balkans closer to the European Union.
Interlocutors also reaffirmed the bilateral friendly ties, with Nikoloski emphasizing Hungary's strong support to the realization of Macedonia's strategic goals on the Euro-integration path.
"We reaffirmed the excellent relations between the two governments and nations. We discussed economy and Euro-integration and I believe that Hungary's support to our development is enormous. We continue to build relations with our friends and Macedonia is getting stronger and more influential. Our task is to keep building on these ties, enhance our cooperation and prove that the benefits of this partnership are felt by our citizens," said Nikoloski.
