Mickoski: Reconstructing May Flower Preschool, focused on providing equal care for all children and their healthy, safe childhood

Skopje, 2 January 2026 (MIA) — As part of the government's strategic commitment to give better care and preschool education to children nationwide, a thorough reconstruction of May Flower Preschool Center in Skopje's Taftalidzhe has begun, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced Friday on social media.

May Flower Preschool Center is one of the largest child care facilities in the Municipality of Karposh. The facility is being completely reconstructed to improve its safety, functionality and energy efficiency.

Not only will the facility be modernized, according to Mickoski, but it will provide a space that stimulates children's creativity and their healthy social and emotional development from an early age.

"The investment of Mden 108,941,063 is financed by the government through the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth within its broader process of improving public social infrastructure, with a focus on providing equal care for all children as the basis for their healthy and safe childhood," the PM wrote on Facebook.

"Projects for lasting change lay the foundations for a secure future," he added.

The plan is to replace the roof, reconstruct all the preschool rooms and adapt the space according to modern educational standards. The restrooms and plumbing will also be improved.

With energy efficiency in mind, the facility will also get thermal insulation, which will save the state money on power bills as well as provide a more comfortable room temperature for children and staff to enjoy. mr/
