Macedonian theater actor Samoil Stojanovski dies

Veles, 4 March 2025 (MIA) — Macedonian theater, film and television actor Samoil Stojanovski has died. He was 54.

 

According to Jordan Hadzhi Konstantinov Dzhinot Theater, where Stojanovski had been employed since 2003, the actor had his last appearance on the stage in December.

 

Born on Nov. 3, 1970, in Skopje, Stojanovski played parts in numerous theater plays, film and television projects.

 

His theater roles include parts in "The Awakening," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "The Fourth Sister," "Orestes," "Assemblywomen," "A Suspicious Character," "The Return," "Birdhouse," "Forget Herostratus!", "X-Hamlet," "The Birds," "The Giant, the Teacher," "The Merry Wives of Windsor," "Terrorism," "The Bacchanalia," "Crime on Goat Island," "Who the Fuck Started All This?", "Onegin," "The Princess and the Gooseherd," "The Last Balkan Vampire," "King Lear," "Tartuffe," "Tales from the Sixth Floor," "Class Enemy," "Good Hope," "Puss in Boots," "Anna Komnene," "Blue/Orange," "Lysistrata," "Eleshnik," "Creon and Antigone" and other plays.

 

Stojanovski also appeared in movies and TV shows, such as "Trieste via Skopje" (1987–1990), "The Wrong Time" (2000), "Ghoul Quest" (2002), "Endgame" (2002), "A Tavern on the Road to Europe" (2005), "This is Not an American Movie" (2011), "We Buy Old Things" (2013), "Stories from Life" (2014), "The Liberation of Skopje" (2016), "Prespav" (2016), "Old Macedonian Folk Tales" (2017) and "The Red Poet" (2024). mr/
