Injured in ‘relatively stable’ condition, 89 receiving treatment in country, 76 abroad: Deputy Health Minister

Skopje, 18 March 2025 (MIA) - The condition of the injured at the nightclub is relatively stable, but we cannot yet say how it will progress since it is still too early, Deputy Minister of Health Jovica Andovski told media Tuesday.

A total of 89 injured are being treated in health facilities in the country, while 76 have been transported abroad.

During the night two patients were transported to Croatia, Slovenia and Austria each, and three to Greece. Additional transports are planned – to Austria, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Croatia, Norway and Slovenia.

Doctors from several foreign countries are also in the country to help with the most serious injuries, including doctors from Belgium, Israel, Czechia and Serbia.

The Deputy Minister also informed that five of the six patients transported to Ankara who were intubated have been extubated, which, he said, means their condition has improved.

The head of the clinic for digestive surgery, Ognen Kostovski, said patients would not be discharged yet, even if they have less serious injuries. The patients will be kept under observation since complications are possible after 72 hours, he said.

Doctor Andon Chibishev said people who were in the nightclub but were not injured are showing up to health facilities following calls to do so.

“We are monitoring them to avoid overlooking anything, we haven’t identified any more serious complications so far, however, these types of poisonings, especially with toxic fumes, can result in complications later. We have recommended all patients to show up for checkups in the coming days. The situation is completely under control,” Chibishev stressed.
