Skopje, 15 December 2025 (MIA) — Ilija Stefanovski's first solo pebble art exhibition, titled „Камедонија“ ("Pebbledonia"), will open at Jadro Cultural Center and will run thorugh Dec. 19. It features works created with pebbles that Stefanovski, a pensioner from Skopje, has collected from the shore of lake Ohrid.

According to organizers, the pebble art show is a "a poetic dialogue between nature and artistic interpretation." 

"Using carefully selected pebbles placed on his own photos of landscapes, Stefanovski explores the relationship between the material and the imaginary. He transforms the pebbles, their natural shapes and traces, into miniature worlds that continue the story of the lake, its light, movement and the silent marks time leaves behind," organizers said.

Ilija Stefanovski (b. 1950, Skopje) had a long career in the sciences and technology before retiring and taking up pebble art. mr/
