Skopje, 8 December 2025 (MIA) - Macedonian opera singer Igor Durlovski had a remarkable debut this weekend at the prestigious Teatro Colón in La Coruña, Spain, performing the role of Arkel in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande.

Spanish critics were unanimous in praising his performance, calling it one of the evening’s standout moments. The renowned Scherzo hailed him as a “firm and impressive Arkel,” Ópera Actual praised his “persuasive and delicately crafted interpretation,” and La Voz de Galicia wrote that his Arkel “had a dark, deeply perceptive quality.”

“With this debut alongside the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, ranked among Spain’s leading orchestras, Durlovski once again reaffirmed his international artistic reputation, while also showcasing the Macedonian operatic tradition on Europe’s major stages,” the review notes.
