Greek Film Festival at Cinematheque on April 7–9

Skopje, 4 April 2024 (MIA) — "Not to Be Unpleasant, But We Need to Have a Serious Talk" (2019) by Giorgos Georgopoulos will open the fourth Greek Film Festival at the Cinematheque on April 7, organizers told a press conference Thursday.

According to festival director Nebojsha Jovanovikj, the dark comedy "is one of the most interesting, weirdest and most watched films in Greece in recent years."

The film will be screened after the short "The Silence of the Dying Fish" (2018) by Vasilis Kekatos.

The festival will screen six films in total — three feature films and three shorts — chosen to showcase contemporary Greek filmmakers' worldviews and their portrayals of contemporary Greek society.

"Invisible" (2015) by Dimitris Athanitis will be shown on April 8. The festival will close with a screening of "Murderess/Fonissa" (2023) by Eva Nathena on April 9.

The films will also be screened at Bitola's Manaki Brothers cinema on April 8 through 10. mr/
