Skopje, 25 March 2025 (MIA) - The Government adopted Tuesday draft amendments to seven laws under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport and Communications which, according to the Government, would see the introduction of mandatory biannual inspections of all holders of licenses issued by the Ministry.

Considering the recent tragic events, said the Government, the goal is to carry out more frequent inspections of all holders of licenses, permits and approvals or authorizations.

“Since many licenses, approvals, permits or authorizations are issued by the Ministry of Transport, these amendments aim to implement a legal obligation for biannual inspections of all holders of licenses issued in accordance with the law. This, of course, does not exclude the possibility of more frequent inspections than the number mandated by the law, in order to ensure quality services and safety for the citizens who use services by the license-holders,” the Government said.
