Ohrid, 27 November 2024 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski will attend the launch of the third phase of the investment cycle by the German company Kostal Macedonia on Wednesday in Ohrid.
The third phase of Kostal's investment cycle amounts to €45–50 million and will create at least 250 new jobs by 2028.
This will bring Kostal’s total investment in Macedonia to over €150 million, creating approximately 1,300 jobs. Some of the new positions have already been filled, and part of the required production equipment has been installed.
"The project aims to invest in the most sophisticated equipment in the “energy electronics” sector for automotive electronics, designed for the latest electric and plug-in hybrid models from Volkswagen Group, as well as advanced mechatronic systems for Mercedes," the government said in a press release.
In 2023, Kostal ranked as the country’s 9th largest exporter. Operating in the Macedonian market for eight years, the company has achieved steady growth and development. Its clients include the Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, Seat), Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, and Land Rover.
