Skopje, 12 February 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Wednesday with Slovenia's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Anžej Frangeš, highlighting the excellent, decades-long bilateral relations and meetings at all levels.
Speaker Gashi emphasized Slovenia's efforts to keep the enlargement issue high on the EU agenda and the support provided on our EU path. Experiences have shown that the enlargement process is the only tool that ensures prosperity, security and stability on the European continent, the Parliament said in a press release.
Envoy Frangeš expressed readiness for further intensification and enhancement of communication and cooperation with Speaker Gashi on topics of mutual interest.
Frangeš noted the importance of opening the EU negotiating chapters as soon as possible, so that the country joins the EU, a process that Slovenia has strongly supported in continuity.
Interlocutors also referred to the Parliament's activities, further enhancement of bilateral cooperation at all levels, with a focus on parliamentary diplomacy, reads the press release.
