- Food and Veterinary Agency inspectors have ordered that 1,980 kg of frozen chicken from Poland be safely destroyed and disposed of after an inspection of a vehicle showed it was being transported in unsafe conditions and was thawing.

Skopje, 27 February 2025 (MIA) — Food and Veterinary Agency inspectors have ordered that 1,980 kg of frozen chicken from Poland be safely destroyed and disposed of after an inspection of a vehicle showed it was being transported in unsafe conditions and was thawing.
The frozen chicken was found Wednesday in a vehicle the Ministry of Interior had seized from an unknown perpetrator.
According to the FVA, there were 180 packages of frozen chicken, weighing 11 kg each.
The frozen chicken had started thawing at the time of the inspection because the temperature in the vehicle was higher than the required -18 degrees Celsius required for transporting frozen food safely.
Also, the FVA noted, there was no documentation of origin or any other paperwork guaranteeing food safety. mr/
