Four North Macedonia patients to be transported to Croatia in two days, says Plenković

Zagreb, 17 March 2025 (MIA) – Four burn victims after the deadly nightclub fire in North Macedonia will be transported to Croatia in two days with Croatian army helicopters, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said Monday offering once again condolences to the families of the victims and wishing swift recovery of the injured.

“I believe they will arrive in two days. Tomorrow, helicopters of the Defence Ministry, precisely of the Croatian army, will transport four injured patients. It is according to an agreement and communication with the Macedonian authorities,” Plenković told reporters.

He added he had called his counterpart Hristijan Mickoski right after hearing the tragic news.

“It is truly a huge tragedy. According to all information we’ve been following yesterday and today, it suggests that it is something unheard of in North Macedonia. Once again, I offer condolences to the families of the victims and I wish swift recovery of the injured,” said the Croatian premier.

Dozens of patients with severe injuries have been transported or are being prepared to be transported in several neighbouring countries, including Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Croatia and Turkey, Macedonian authorities said.
