First set of Digital Europe calls released: minister

Skopje, 10 April 2025 (MIA) - The first set of calls within the Digital Europe Programme of the European Commission for 2025 related to digital innovation hubs opened on April 3 and will last until May 14.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation released Thursday the Call for digital innovation hubs in the country, which are interested in becoming a part of the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Minister Stefan Andonovski told today's press conference that the EDIH funding amounts to 50 percent by the Digital Europe Programme, whereas the remaining 50 percent would be secured by applicants.

"This is an excellent opportunity for the private sector (small, medium and large enterprises), chambers of commerce, academia, NGOs and public institutions. The European Commission provides EUR 1.3 billion for projects in the field of AI, cybersecurity and digital skills," said Minister Andonovski.

The other calls within the Digital Europe programme are set to open for applications between 15 April and 2 September.
