Skopje, 13 February 2025 (MIA) - The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) said in a statement Thursday it has launched “a comprehensive process of reforms and vetting in the party” led by party leader Ali Ahmeti and the rest of DUI’s leadership.
In the statement, the party said the initiative underscores the party’s commitment to “good governance and integrity” and sets “a new standard for political parties in the region”.
“DUI’s MPs launched the process of reforms with a corruption risk assessment and signed DUI’s Code of Good Practice and Integrity. This code is aligned with the Code of Good Practice in the Field of Political Parties, adopted with a Resolution by the Venice Commission and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” DUI said.
In addition to the MPs, the party said the vetting process would also target all high party officials, members of the party’s presidency and the leadership of local party branches.
“With its strategic action plan, DUI aims not only to strengthen its position against corruption, but also to encourage a culture of integrity in the political processes,” DUI leader Ali Ahmeti stressed.
