Skopje, 17 November 2025 (MIA) - Construction of a new kindergarten has begun in Madzari, in the municipality of Gazi Baba on Monday. Officials announced that the facility will have capacity for 150 children, significantly improving access to preschool education and childcare in the area.

The facility will cover 1,360 square meters and will include 10 classrooms, two nursery units, and 8 rooms for older children. It will consist of a ground floor and one upper floor. The project is valued at Mden 147 million, secured through the Government’s second call for funding.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, at the ceremony marking the start of construction of the new kindergarten, said that the implementation of projects is continuing. What has been promised, he emphasized, must be delivered.

“I am pleased that more children will be able to use these facilities,” he added.

Gazi Baba mayor Boban Stefkovski also voiced satisfaction with the event, calling it another important step in improving conditions for children, their education, and supporting young families in the municipality.

“The people of Gazi Baba placed their trust in me in the elections less than a month ago, and as promised, we are continuing with the steady rollout of new projects that will enhance the quality of life for everyone. Our aim is to create better living conditions, and this kindergarten is just one of many projects we will implement in the coming period. The construction is expected to take 18 months, and once completed, it will provide modern and safe facilities for our children,” the mayor said.

Stefkovski added that this is the third new kindergarten in Gazi Baba, and that the municipality is currently in the process of selecting a contractor for a fourth one in Singjelik.

“In the coming period, we expect a lot of work and many new projects that will significantly improve infrastructure, education, and public services in our municipality. We are working together to build the future of Gazi Baba, for our children, our residents and our community. Together, we continue moving forward,” he said.
