Kichevo, 12 March 2025 (MIA) – The application process for professional soldiers in the Army begins today, Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski said Wednesday after visiting the army barracks in Kichevo. A call for the recruitment of officers, specifically individuals with a higher education degree, will also be published on Thursday.
“What the Prime Minister announced a few days ago, I would like to share with you today, the call has been published, and all young people who wish to join the Ministry of Defence and the Army are encouraged to apply. Also, a call for the recruitment of 60 individuals with a higher education degree for an officer rank will be published on Thursday. Therefore, I call on all young people who love Macedonia to step forward and seize the opportunity. We want to strengthen our ranks and give many young individuals the chance to become part of our family, our NATO family, to stand among the best and most capable,” Misajlovski said.
After visiting the "Chede Filipovski - Dame" barracks, accompanied by top military officials and Deputy Minister Elfet Ismaili, Misajlovski noted that the Army needs new human resources and modernization.
According to the published call for the recruitment of 300 professional soldiers, the conditions include fixed working hours and a four-year employment contract, with the possibility of multiple extensions until the age of 45.
Minister Misajlovski announced that this year, approximately 86 million denars will be invested in various infrastructure projects within the barracks and regional units. Today, the reconstruction of the roof of the soldiers' restaurant at the Kichevo barracks began, and according to the plans, it should be completed in ninety days.
“Construction activities are underway on the roof of the soldiers' restaurant, which had been damaged for a long period and posed a safety risk to the Army personnel. According to the agreement, the work involves a complete dismantling and reinstallation of the roof, as well as the construction of an interior ceiling and reinforcement of the roof reconstruction. In 2025, we plan to allocate 86 million denars for infrastructure, specifically for the reconstruction and repair of multiple facilities,” Misajlovski said.
