2018 Eurobond worth EUR 500 million fully repaid: Finance Ministry
- The Ministry of Finance said Monday the country has fully repaid the EUR 500 million Eurobond taken out in 2018.

Skopje, 20 January 2025 (MIA) - The Ministry of Finance said Monday the country has fully repaid the EUR 500 million Eurobond taken out in 2018.
The repayment of the loan was funded with a loan from the Hungarian Export-Import Bank with an interest rate of 3.25 percent, a 15-year repayment period and an added grace period of three years.
“In order to secure funds at the lowest expenses for the repayment of this Eurobond, a loan agreement was signed with the Hungarian Export-Import Bank. The conditions under which we received the funds have led to savings in the budget on the basis of interest rate and commissions. We will continue our policies of regular and timely servicing of obligations and securing funds at the most favorable conditions,” said Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, noting that the country is beginning 2025 with “liquid and stable public finance that will ensure regular and timely servicing of obligations”.
The country has so far issued nine Eurobonds, six of which have been repaid. Three Eurobonds issued in 2020, 2021 and 2023 worth EUR 1.9 billion are set to mature in the coming years.
