Skopje, 23 May 2025 (MIA) - Deputy Health Minister Jovica Andonovski said Friday two Mpox cases have been confirmed after laboratory analyses by the Public Health Institute (PHI).

Deputy Minister Andonovski urged citizens to refain fom panic because all required measures are being undertaken.

PHI director Marija Andonovska said the two male patients, aged 44 and 40, are both from Skopje. According to the information they provided to the health authorities, they did not travel aboad.

One of the patients is hospitalized at the Skopje-based Clinic for Infectious Diseases, while the other has still not reported fo treatment.

Andonovska also called on citizens to stay calm, noting Mpox is not a new disease and protocols are already developed.
