Skopje, 23 March 2026 (MIA) — The average monthly net paycheck per employee in January was 46,617 denars, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.

This marked an 8.3% increase compared to January 2025, the SSO release said.

The annual growth was driven largely by significant pay raises in the following industries: Administrative and support services (up 12.9%), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles (up 11.1%) and Manufacturing (up 10.5%).

Several sectors saw a decline in wages compared to December 2025. The sharpest monthly decreases were recorded in Transportation and storage (down 7.4%), Construction (down 5.3%) and Financial and insurance activities (down 3.8%). mr/
