Mucunski - Kos: Government fully committed to progress in EU integration process, implementation of reforms

Brussels, 23 March 2026 (MIA) - The EU accession process, the country's reform agenda and implementation of the Growth Plan were in the focus of a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski and European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in Brussels on Monday.
FM Mucunski welcomed the constructive and open cooperation with the European Commission and its services, noting that the Government remains engaged in achieving progress in the integration process and fully mobilized in the implementation of EU-related reforms and tasks within the Reform Agenda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

The meeting also pointed out progress made in several initiatives that bring concrete benefits for citizens and the economy, such as the accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and activities for alignment with EU roaming regulations.
Interlocutors raised other current issues of the sectoral cooperation with the Union, with a focus on economic integration and connectivity.

Earlier in the day, FM Mucunski met with representatives of member-states in the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), reaffirming the Government's commitment on the European path and the focus on delivering concrete reform results for improvement of the people's lives and alignment with EU standards.
Mucunski gave an overview of the Government's activities towards accelerating the integration process, while highlighting the necessity for a clear, predictable and merit-based accession process, as a joint interest for candidates and member-states, reads the press release.
