Taravari: People will be held responsible for patient's death from aortic dissection if any medical error found
- Hospital staff will be held responsible if there was any medical negligence in the case of the patient who died from an aortic dissection at the University Clinic for Cardiac Surgery, Health Minister Arben Taravari said Tuesday.

Skopje, 15 April 2025 (MIA) — Hospital staff will be held responsible if there was any medical negligence in the case of the patient who died from an aortic dissection at the University Clinic for Cardiac Surgery, Health Minister Arben Taravari said Tuesday.
The patient's relatives had blamed the Cardiac Surgery clinic for not having an available operating room to perform the life-saving surgical procedure he needed.
The State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate conducted a hospital inspection Monday. Taravari, however, said he had not seen the report yet, when asked what people with heart problems should do in the future.
"We are all potential patients. This can happen to any of us. Fortunately in Macedonia we have three clinics that can perform such surgeries: a state clinic and two private hospitals.
"Let me see the report first. There will definitely be responsibility if there was any medical error or negligence," Taravari told reporters. mr/
