Skopje, 20 April 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, on the occasion of the great Christian holiday – the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ – Easter, which this year lands on the same day for all Christians worldwide, extended greetings to the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia HH Stefan, the Bishop of Skopje and Eparch of Strumica and Skopje, Kiro Stojanov, as well as to the President of the Evangelical and Methodist Church, Emil Zaev. 

President Siljanovska Davkova notes that the Resurrection of Christ, as the cornerstone of faith, has been a symbol of life for every Christian for two millennia and strengthens faith and hope, inspiring us to cultivate spirituality and give love to everyone and everywhere.

"During the Easter fast, an unprecedented tragedy occurred in the modern history of our homeland. I sincerely hope that Easter will bring us comfort, good thoughts and optimism, to overcome the trials united and in solidarity. Let us show that we can come out wiser, better and more humane from misfortune and trouble. Let us do good deeds and help all those who need help and support," the President said in the greeting. 

As the cornerstone of Christianity, she adds among other, Easter shapes the lives of believers, strengthening their spirituality, inspiring them with faith and hope. May the fact that this year all Christians celebrate Easter on the same date be an incentive for unity and togetherness, both here and throughout the world.

"I believe that with committment and responsibility we will overcome the difficulties and contribute to the prosperity of the country and the well-being of our citizens. I believe that inspired by the great holiday we will find energy and strength to face all challenges and temptations united, showing solidarity and togetherness. May we be each other's support, may we be courageous and spread positive thoughts and emotions," the President said congratulating Easter.
