Safe City starts tomorrow, MoI urges compliance with traffic rules
- The system of street cameras dubbed "Safe City", which records traffic misdemeanors, will become fully operational on Sunday (February 1) in Skopje, Tetovo, and Kumanovo, as well as on Corridors VIII and X. According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), only four types of violations will be tracked in the first phase, including speeding, running red lights, improper stopping or parking, and unregistered vehicles.
Skopje, 31 January 2026 (MIA) - The system of street cameras dubbed "Safe City", which records traffic misdemeanors, will become fully operational on Sunday (February 1) in Skopje, Tetovo, and Kumanovo, as well as on Corridors VIII and X. According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), only four types of violations will be tracked in the first phase, including speeding, running red lights, improper stopping or parking, and unregistered vehicles.
"The Safe City system is an extremely important investment in the safety of all citizens and the entire country. It will save lives, regulate traffic, and sanction all those who refuse to comply with traffic rules and regulations to their own detriment and the detriment of other traffic participants. The cameras are installed at critical and accident-prone traffic locations," said the MoI.
The Ministry urges compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
