Skopje, 12 December 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska yesterday had a working lunch with the ambassadors of EU member states serving in the country, organized by Hungarian Ambassador András Klein.
In a friendly atmosphere, attendees discussed topical domestic, regional, European and global events and processes, said the President’s PR office.
An emphasis was put on the Macedonian problems and obstacles in the EU integration process and the need of a creative solution to solve the Bulgarian-Macedonian dispute in the spirit of friendship and good neighbourly relations by respecting EU’s fundamental values and principles, said the press release.
The President reaffirmed her deep trust, commitment and dedication to implementing the reform agenda in line with the Copenhagen criteria with active partnership with the EU.
Bilateralization and precedents pose a real danger to enlargement, Siljanovska Davkova pointed out.
According to her, amid war conflicts, EU enlargement to include Western Balkan countries, which naturally belong to Europe, geographically, historically and culturally, and are implementing joint external and security policy with the EU is of joint interest as it is also strengthening their immunity to threats, said the press release.
