Police foil attempt to smuggle 2 kilos of cocaine at Skopje airport

Skopje, 10 November 2024 (MIA) - Police officers arrested 34-year-old Brazilian national D.S.A.D. at the Skopje International Airport late on Saturday due to suspicions of “unauthorized production and release for trade of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors”, the Interior Ministry said in a press release.
While carrying out a search, the police discovered two kilograms of cocaine in one of the two suitcases carried by D.S.A.D. The individual told the police that he was hired by a Macedonian national to transport the drug from São Paulo to Skopje for a compensation of EUR 5000.
The Interior Ministry said it also carried out searches of brothers Kj,N. (36) and H.N. (28) in Ohrid on the basis of information gathered on individuals that were involved in the transport of the cocaine. The two brothers have been arrested. Searches have also been carried out in two locations related to S.K. (36) in Struga, for whom an arrest warrant has been issued.
“On Sunday, the Skopje Police will file charges at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption against four individuals involved in the organization and realization of the transport of two kilograms of cocaine,” the Interior Ministry said.
