Skopje, 14 January 2025 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Tuesday will put in service the Gradsko-Drenovo section, part of the Gradsko-Farish expressway.
The Gradsko-Drenovo section is 15.5 kilometers long, plus one kilometer of the Farish-Drenovo section – a total of 16.5 kilometers of expressway.
The project is worth 37,300,000 euros, including 26,700,000 euros provided through IPA funds and 10,600,000 euros secured by the budget, the government said in a press release.
The section that is being put into service includes three interchanges: Gradsko, Rosoman, Drenovo, four viaducts, one bridge, four overpasses and three underpasses.
By putting into use the first section from Gradsko to Farish as part of the Gradsko-Drenovo expressway, travel time to Prilep and Bitola will cut down, PM Mickoski stated last week during a visit to Shtip municipality.
The whole expressway is expected to be inaugurated in March, which will complete the 25-kilometer road. Mickoski has also announced that works on the highway between Prilep and Bitola are ongoing adding he expected its completion in three years’ time.
