Parliament holds commemorative session marking one-year anniversary of Kochani tragedy

Skopje, 12 March 2026 (MIA) - The Parliament is set to hold a commemorative session on Thursday, marking the one-year anniversary of the deadly fire in the Pulse nightclub in Kochani, which killed 63 people and left nearly 200 injured.

On March 14, the Government will host an international conference “Institutional and clinical aspects and solutions after the Kochani fire, one year on”, which will bring together institution representatives, heath experts, representatives of international organizations and charity partners.

Government spokeswoman Marija Miteva said Wednesday the conference will also be attended by doctors and healthcare professionals from 37 countries that offered assistance in treating burn victims. According to Miteva, the conference aims at making a comprehensive analysis of the response to the tragedy from first response and saving of lives, to long-term treatment, rehabilitation and systemic solutions for the future. Future solutions and systemic steps taken by the institutions will be part of the closing session.

A trial is underway for the Kochani nightclub fire.
