Minister Toshkovski meets UK Home Office senior official Ridley
- Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski met Wednesday with a delegation from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, headed by the UK Second Permanent Secretary at the Home Office, Simon Ridley, and the British Ambassador to the country, Matthew Lawson.
Skopje, 11 December 2024 (MIA) – Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski met Wednesday with a delegation from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, headed by the UK Second Permanent Secretary at the Home Office, Simon Ridley, and the British Ambassador to the country, Matthew Lawson.
“During the meeting, the past cooperation between the two sides in the fight against all forms of crime, particularly illegal migration and transnational organized crime, was highlighted. Special attention was given to the capacities and the joint approach to crime that transcends borders,” according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the meeting, the Minister Toshkovski and the Second Permanent Secretary Ridley signed a statement on cooperation between the two ministries in the fight against organized crime, which, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “affirms the importance of bilateral relations and the shared interest in close cooperation to combat serious organized crime, with the aim of protecting the citizens of both countries.”
"Both sides discussed their expectations and projections for the trends of illegal migration in the near future, stressing that border security must be a common priority," according to a press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
