Skopje, 9 November 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Saturday that as of now he has not heard any reports about a potential increase of the price of electricity. He said the situation is stable and consolidated, with the Government taking timely measures to prevent price hikes and ensure the supply of electricity.
“As of now I have no information about any increases in the price of electricity. The winter will be challenging, considering what Europe is facing and the weather forecasts. To that end, we took measures to prevent a price shock and an increase in the price of electricity. How this will ultimately play out will also depend on the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC),” Mickoski said.
“The situation is stable, consolidated and despite all the challenges we took timely measures to prevent a price shock, to ensure the supply of electricity. The gas we are procuring for the needs of ESM is dramatically cheaper than the one procured by the previous Government. Next week, on Wednesday or Thursday, I expect a pleasant surprise when it comes to energy and energy security,” he underlined.
