Marinakis: Hospitals in Thessaloniki and Athens remain on high alert

Athens, 20 March 2025 (MIA) – Greek government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis stated during Thursday’s press briefing that the burn units in designated healthcare institutions in Thessaloniki and Athens remain on high alert. He highlighted Greece’s support for our country in providing medical care for the injured in the tragic Kochani fire, MIA’s Athens correspondent reported.

According to Marinakis, the Health Operations Center of the National Emergency Assistance Center, as part of its emergency response planning for the transport and treatment of burn victims, is keeping the burn units in Thessaloniki and Athens on high alert,” Marinakis said.

He also noted that 12 burn victims are currently hospitalized in Greece. According to his statement, six are at the 401 General Military Hospital in Athens, one at the Air Force General Military Hospital in Athens, three at the Papanikolaou General Hospital in Thessaloniki, and two at the 424 General Military Hospital in Thessaloniki.
