Skopje, 13 February 2025 (MIA) — To celebrate World Radio Day, the Macedonian jazz band Skopje Jazz Inc. will give a livestreamed concert at the Diamond Mall Literatura.mk book store at 9 pm.

Held as part of the book store's Literature Days series of events, the concert will be streamed live on Jazz FM 100.8 FM as well as online at jazzfm.mk, the radio said in a press release.

Skopje Jazz Inc. was formed in 2018. The band consists of Trajche Velkov on trumpet, Zoran Kostadinovski on guitar, Viktor Filipovski on drums and Goran Geshovski on bass guitar. 

World Radio Day was designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 to celebrate the importance of radio. Since then, it has been marked each Feb. 13.

According to UNESCO, radio supports populations through climate disasters such as tropical storms and floods, and it also helps disseminate fact-based information, listeners’ voices, and dedicated radio shows. mr/
