Israel says it struck Hezbollah infrastructure 'across Lebanon'

Beirut, 13 March 2026 (dpa/MIA) - The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) late on Thursday said that it had struck Hezbollah infrastructure "across Lebanon."

"A short while ago the IDF completed several waves of strikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut and southern Lebanon," the military said on Telegram.

"The IDF struck several Hezbollah command centers, from which Hezbollah terrorists operated to advance terror attacks against the State of Israel and its civilians."

The military went on to accuse Hezbollah of "systematically embed[ding] its infrastructure within the civilian population across Lebanon. This is another example of the organization's cynical exploitation of Lebanese civilians for its terrorist activities," the IDF said.

Earlier, Israel said that it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on Beirut and its southern suburbs.

The latest escalation between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah is linked to the wider regional war involving Iran and has once again pushed Lebanon into crisis.

Israeli airstrikes have struck across the country, killing hundreds and forcing large numbers of people to flee.

According to Lebanese state figures, more than 600 people have been killed and nearly 816,700 displaced since the latest escalation began.
