Skopje, 31 May 2026 (MIA) - The government at its session on Sunday decided to extend the measure to reduce excise taxes on oil derivatives, effective until June 15. Following talks with the main domestic fuel supplier OKTA, an additional discount of Mden 2 per liter has also been secured, effective from Monday, June 1.
“Under these measures and according to our calculations, we expect the price of diesel fuel to decrease by Mden 6.5 per liter, while gasoline prices will be reduced by Mden 1.5 per liter. This represents concrete and direct support for citizens, the transport sector, farmers, and the economy as a whole. The reduction in fuel prices will contribute to lower living and operating costs, as well as to maintaining price stability amid global economic challenges,” the government stated.
The government added that it remains committed to policies that deliver tangible benefits for citizens and will continue to actively implement measures to protect living standards and strengthen economic security.
