Families of fire victims in Kochani demand accountability at protest march

Kochani, 12 April 2025 (MIA) - The second protest march took place in Kochani on Saturday under the motto "Delayed Response," organized by the families of the victims of the tragic fire at the "Pulse" nightclub.

Symbolically, march began at 12:05 pm from the Park of the Revolution, with the citizens expressing their dissatisfaction with the delayed response of the relevant institutions, which they considered as one of the reasons of the great tragedy.

Several hundred citizens passed through the shopping centre in silence, briefly stopping in front of the café bar, which was also owned by the owner of the nightclub, and then proceeded to the Kochani Municipality building where the offices of the State Market Inspectorate are located.

With a one-minute silence in front of the police station, the citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the untimely response to prevent the tragedy, and then, in front of the Basic Court and the Basic Prosecutor's Office, they requested information about the ongoing investigation.

"We demand accountability for the actions taken," was the only loud message shouted in front of the Prosecutor's Office, and it was also written on one of the slogans.

The citizens carried signs with slogans such as "Our angels deserve justice," "Stop selective justice," "This is not an accident, it's murder," and similar messages. Afterward, they returned to the Park and announced that these protests will continue until those responsible for the tragic event are revealed and held accountable.
