Exports and imports decline, trade deficit reaches €2.9 billion by November last year: statistics
- The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-November 2024 amounted to €7.216.6 million, a 5.8% decrease compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was €10.126.5 million, or 0.6% less than the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office in a press release.
Skopje, 8 January 2025 (MIA) – The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-November 2024 amounted to €7.216.6 million, a 5.8% decrease compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was €10.126.5 million, or 0.6% less than the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office in a press release.
The trade deficit in the period January-November 2024 was €2.909.9 million.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and the motor vehicles for the transport of persons.
In the period January-November 2024, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, China and Serbia.
